A unique handmade wood Jewelry Box featuring a swing out tray.

This finely handcrafted wood jewelry box is made out of wormy ( sorry, the worms are long gone!)  butternut, curly maple, and black walnut. The base for this unique jewelry box is made out of red elm.

Joinery for this decorative handmade jewelry box features splined miters for strength and visual appeal.  Using miters allows the wood grain to wrap around the corners.

High quality solid brass Brusso box hinges were use to attach the lid.

A solid brass knob is attached to the front for lifting up the lid.

Soft blue velvet was used for the box and tray bottom.

I also made a 4 slot ring holder out of blue velvet that fits into the tray.

A hand rubbed lacquer finish was used to enhance the natural beauty of the various woods.

Overall size of box is 7 1/4″ high x 8 7/8″ deep x 12 7/8″ long.

3/8″ thick wood was used to give this box a feeling of lightness.

The lid is made of book-matched black cherry and curly maple breadboard ends.

The cherry has a very strong grain pattern to it.

Curly maple was used as a lid lift.

Walnut splines were used to reinforce the box corners.

High quality and expensive solid brass Brusso jewelry box hinges attach the lid to the box.

The inside of the box has blue velvet flocking and the bottom has blue velvet lining.

The bottom of the box is 1/4″ birch veneer plywood.

A hand rubbed polyurethane wax finish makes this wooden Bible ~ Keepsake Box sparkle.
