About
I’ve been working wood in some way or another since I was a kid nearly 6 decades ago. Wow! Where has the time gone?!
My interests have changed over the years, just like everyone else I suppose.
When I was younger, homesteading was a priority. It didn’t take long to discover that “doing for yourself” was a lot of hard work and not as romantic as some of the “back to the land rags” had you believing.
The next several decades was spent building up a nest egg, seeing the family unit swell then decline as the youngsters flew the coup.
Along the way, I enjoyed a few hobbies, but working with wood always seemed to hold my interest.
Almost 30 years was spent running a sawmill / lumber business, now that I’m older and enjoying the fruits of all that hard work (aches & pains), I decided to let someone else handle all those physically demanding tasks that go with saw-milling.
So now I enjoy spending my time creating something special from some of that lumber that I set aside for just the right project.
I also became interested in Longarm quilting. Now, when I’m not in the shop woodworking, I’m in the house playing with either my Gammill Longarm or Handi Quilter Sweet 16 doing decorative stitching.
Well, that’s about it for now, thanks for reading this far.
